HanSEL project represents a new collaboration between two european academic institutions:
the University of Catania (Italy) and the Université Toulouse – Jean Jaurès (France). This collaboration is addressing a problematic with a strong social stakes, intertwining the knowledge and ressources of two main disciplines of human and social sciences, that is: Sociology of Law and Psychology. |

Research activities in the Department comprise a wide range of projects, seminars, workshops and conferences in Political and Social Sciences, Economics, Law, History and they lay emphasis on the analysis of political and social change at the national, sub-national, European and transnational levels. Research is often carried out using comparative or contextual approaches to examine and develop wide-ranging areas of research, with a multilevel focus. The research programmes of the Political and Social Science area range over the four sub-disciplines of Comparative Politics, Sociology, International Relations, and Social and Political theory with a long-standing experience in Political Science, International Relations and European Politics. The research programmes in Law range over legal issues in areas such as European and International Law, Labour, Economic, Private and Administrative Law.

Department of Psychology, University Toulouse - Jean Jaurès, France
Founded in 1229, the University of Toulouse-Jean Jaurès has a long-standing tradition of humanities studies. UT2J offers degrees in a broad variety of disciplines, from the undergraduate level to the doctorate. Research activities in the Department of Psychology comprise projects in Clinical, Psychopathology, Developmental, Cognitive, Ergonomics, Social, Organisational, and Neuro-Psychology. The department hosts 4 laboratories, among them the Work and Cognition Laboratory (CLLE). CLLE comprises a group of researchers specialised in Social Cognition, Cognitive and Ergonomics, and Developmental Psychology. Their research programme on Memory, Evaluation and Jugment is notably applied to Psychology and Law issues.
